Driving Excellence in Engineering

title-image

VIEW, Inc. is an organization enabling a strong and innovative engineering workforce by helping traditional and underrepresented groups in engineering careers through awareness and education.

Women, LGBTQ+, Black, Hispanic, and indigenous people remain significantly underrepresented in engineering careers per population. We believe that there is untapped talent to develop into a qualified, innovative workforce to fill the growing demand for engineering in the U.S.  Not only will industry thrive but individuals will improve their lives through interesting and stable high paying careers in engineering.

Our Vision

Our VisionRealizing engineering innovation through an inclusive work force.

Rather than K-12 which is done well by other groups, our focus is post-secondary education and beyond, whether community college, certificate programs, university, and especially – professionals in the workforce.

VIEW welcomes help from men, women, and nonbinary people. This includes awareness and advocacy, sharing information, volunteering, donations, and following and advising on our programs and progress.

  • Support higher education students in engineering and engineering technician programs
  • Empower professionals in engineering
  • Advocate re-entry of engineers into the workforce
  • Inspire career pivots into engineering.
  • Resume review
  • Interview practice
  • Scholarship and internship information
  • Networking opportunities
  • Assistance with starting an engineering firm
  • Student/professional mentoring

  • Assistance to employers such as stay interviews, policy analysis, and employee advocacy.

Engineering careers should reflect the rich tapestry of our society. However, current demographics show a stark contrast. Approximately 68% of individuals in engineering careers are White. To achieve full demographic representation, significant strides are needed:

Increase by 140 %
Black engineers
Increase by 85 %
Latin engineers
Increase by 800 %
Indigenous engineers
Increase by 235 %
Women engineers

While data specific to engineers identifying as LGBTQ+ remains limited, literature suggests this community faces additional underrepresentation in STEM fields.

Asians currently enjoy representation in engineering careers.
